This 3-bedroom 2 bathroom one-story house was perfect for our family - 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 kids. The kitchen is large and well stocked. The beds are extremely comfortable. The "kids room" has 2 bunk beds. The living area is a good size. The large deck off the living room is great, and was shaded and comfortable in the late afternoon/evening. The kids loved running around in the large yard. We were comfortable at night even though there is no air-conditioning - Truckee cools off and the fans were all we needed. The hosts were very responsive to our messages when we had problems with the WiFi. Overall, it is a great place to stay and we would definitely stay here again!

The house was nicely appointed and very clean and tidy. If you like a firm bed, this is the place for you. It’s set on a quiet neighborhood street where the only noise to be bothered by was the occasional barking of a neighbor’s dog. We spent most of our time out and about Truckee, Tahoe City, and Donner Lake. This place was central to all our destinations. Michael was quick to respond to and resolve the couple of minor issues we encountered due to a downed internet service line. We enjoyed our stay here and I have no doubt you will too.

We had a wonderful stay! We had our 90-year-old mother, and she felt at home and safe. The weather was beautiful, so we loved sitting out on the back deck with the nice patio furniture. It was very clean, no steps to walk up AND VERY COZY!!!

We enjoyed our stay at Michael's place. it was in a great location close to parks, restaurants, coffee shops, and downtown Truckee. We discovered Cafe Lupine which is a 10 minute walk. It was a lovely coffee house with outdoor seating overlooking the golf course. The crème brûlée donuts are to die for! The house was immaculately clean, cozy, and plenty of room for my family of 5. We had some issue with wifi and connection for the network and TV and Michael responded quickly. We were out must of the day so it was not an issue until late at night when we got back. We enjoyed our stay nonetheless and will stay again.

This house is fantastic! It was perfect for our vacation and our family. The house is so cute and decorated so nicely. The view from the couch onto the back deck is so gorgeous and peaceful. There is lots of space both inside and out. We loved playing in the front and back yard. It didn't snow while we were there, but the yard still had so much snow that my kids had a blast playing in it. The house is in a great location - close to restaurants, coffee shops, lots of snow activities and not far from the lake. This was our first time staying in Truckee and it was adorable. We will definitely back and we would love to stay in this house again!

Lovely stay with another family and our elementary aged kids for a ski trip to Northstar, just down the road. Flat driveway and garage parking were bonus. Susan & Michael were responsive to questions, proactive in communicating WiFi, door code, & check out procedures. Well labeled cabinets/drawers in kitchen and great amenities: fancy espresso maker, phone chargers, humidifier & foam roller were icing on the cake! Very clean with comfortable beds. Great place! Loved the fireplace - a great, cozy place to spend a weekend with friends! Perfect Place for a Week of Skiing

My wife, daughter, and I really enjoyed our stay. The house is clean and comfortable in a great residential neighborhood. The location is tops. Northstar is ~15 minutes (without traffic), historic downtown restaurants are <10 minutes, and Raley’s is even closer. Susan is an excellent host. Good for families that are okay with dogs!

Great location and accommodations for families. Unfortunately, the description did not include that the primary owner has a dog in the home when they use it and this the house has dog hair and the smell of dog (as well lots of poop in the backyard). I have allergies and they were aggravated, be aware if you are sensitive! Responsive host, great for pup lovers.

Nice Property but outright dishonesty from the property manager

The property itself was very nice. Great location and as described in the description. The issue came after we left when we were charged and accused of taking, trash bags, toilet paper and detergent, all items consequently we had to make a run to the store to replace during our stay. It is frustrating because I guess we should of alerted her the moment we ran out of TP as to not be accused of stealing. Oh and don't leave any trash as it is deemed excessive if it does not fit in the tiny clear bags they leave under the kitchen sink. Great stay in Truckee!

This was a great house to stay in over the Thanksgiving week! My sister & family lives in the neighborhood and we could not all fit in her place. This house made it so convenient to stay nearby. It was spacious enough for the 4 adults & 1 child in our group...with plenty of room for the cousins to come hang out as well. The house is well supplied with anything you might need. It snowed during our week & it was well equipped for that too...sleds, snow toys, etc. The owner was very responsive in communicating with me & we would definitely stay here again!!

This is a great house! The bunk bed room is perfect for the kids! We enjoyed breakfast every morning on the back deck. It was a short drive to Truckee and the beaches and State Park at Donner Lake. We walked to excellent restaurants and wine tasting for dinner. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful, relaxing home in a great location!

This is a wonderful, well cared for home that was very welcoming. Everything we needed was there. We enjoyed eating out on the deck each morning and listening to the birds. It was a great location outside the craziness of downtown Truckee but we could get there quickly if we wanted. We enjoyed walking to the winery one night and playing games as the sun set. Perfect summer retreat for us and our three young boys

We stayed at the Mountain Muse for a family wedding, easily accommodated 5 adults and two small children. Cozy, beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything we needed. We cooked most meals in and the kitchen had everything we needed. The bunk beds were a big hit with the 3 year old. Walking distance to parks, playgrounds, pubs and restaurants. Beautiful yard. Located super close to both Northstar and downtown Truckee. Great home with all the conveniences and comforts you could ask for. Completely remodeled, new appliances, great espresso maker, huge TV with all the options, comfy beds and sofa. This is not your typical rental. Great home that made our annual Thanksgiving trip to Tahoe/Truckee very memorable.

As Advertised, family friendly home had as feeling comfortable and cozy.

The house was comfortable and clean. Loved being able to bike ride into downtown Truckee, through the beautiful park. The "Rock" shopping plaza was walking distance, and featured a great little winery that we enjoyed. My husband and I have stayed at Susan's Truckee home many times because both of our children live in the area. The house is comfortable and well equipped. It works perfectly for two but would also be great for two couples or a family with small children...our grandchildren love the bunk room. It was a nice surprise that we were able to secure 2 nights over the Fourth of July weekend at the Muse retreat. We had 2 grown ups, 4 young adults and 2 little kids in our group. The house was perfect! Had everything that we needed. Love the location! We took Susan's suggestion on walking to the Truckee River Winery and we loved it. The wine was amazing! We ended up getting 8 bottles! The kids loved playing on the Bocce lane and the food was just perfect for the setting. The house is secluded but easy enough to get on major roads. A place to relax, refresh and recharge

The Muse Retreat was such a lovely experience for us. Six adults over a weeks time enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness of this vacation rental. In addition, some of us got outdoors to hike and cycle recharging our physical and mental abilities. The home was well equipped for people such as us who enjoy cooking and was close to great eateries for those of us who don't enjoy that activity. We had no children with us but as a grandparent, I know my grandchildren would have been well accommodated and would have enjoyed all that the area had to offer. Pleasing Property Merits Five Stars

Our trip was a quick one, but the home was very comfortable. We were able to make dinner and rest well. Very nicely furnished, attravtive neighborhood. About and hour's drive from Sparks, NV, which is where we needed to be during the day. My husband and I were very comfortable in the master bedroom, but our three teenage daughters were a little cramped in the room with two bunkbeds. Would be a fabulous set-up for younger children, but for mostly grown teens the bunk beds were a bit small. The third room had a very nice bed that would have accomodated two of the teens much better, but that would have left one with a bottom bunk on their own. Had we stayed longer, I'm sure we could've worked…

Welcoming and cozy home

This is our second trip staying at this wonderful home in Truckee. We love it and it is perfect for family and our two kids. We love the location of the house and it is so clean. The front yard is perfect for throwing a frisbee or sending the kids on a scavenger hunt. The beds are so comfortable and the kitchen has everything you could ever want. There are so many great 'extras' in the house from games to puzzles to markers for coloring. We will be back for a third time for sure!

Great location, clean - had it all!

The house was amazing! Very clean and had it all (kitchen supplies --even coffee! bedding, etc). Also great location very close to downtown Truckee and Northstar. Neighborhood setting, less cabin-like feel and more just a really nice house. The level front lawn was great for my daughter to play, and a nice back deck to hang out and BBQ. This is probably the nicest rental we've ever stayed in. Every detail was thought-out.

Perfect for families!

We booked a last minute stay for the 4th of July weekend. The home was perfect for 2 families with small kids. The owner has thought of everything, and we had so much fun just hanging around the house and playing in the front and back yards. Definitely planning a trip back!

Very Nice Home and Owners

My family stayed at this home in July, and it worked well for us. It was centrally-located in relation to Lake Tahoe, Donner Lake, and Truckee, and the home was clean, beautifully decorated/furnished, and well-equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed and more, and the den had books, games, DVDs, an Xbox 360, and a gorgeous 60" Panasonic plasma TV (need I say more?), so we had plenty of entertainment available when we weren't frolicking outdoors. There was a minor problem initially with accessing the high-speed wi-fi, but the owners were very responsive and worked with me to get it resolved. They also communicated well both before and after our stay. I would definitely stay here again.

Great for a large family or two small families

We really enjoyed the space. It is a little tight, so I wouldn't recommend if you are planning on hanging around the house all weekend, but if you are skiing or have other plans that will have you spending your days away, it is great. Lot's of upgrades and the kids enjoyed the xbox. Also, there is no air conditioner, so might be a little uncomfortable if it is unseasonably hot, though with the weather in the region those days are very rare.

AWESOME HOME & LOCATION

What an awesome house! The location was so perfect for me and my family to take advantage of all that the Sierras have to offer. We stayed for 4 days and we went to Donner Lake and went fishing and crawdadding, we rafted down the Truckee River from Tahoe City, went into Truckee for their Thursday night market, went to NorthStar's Village and over to Squaw Valley Village one day and went fishing all over the local area rivers. Beautiful home - Excellent Location - Perfect for Families!

My family went to Tahoe for a last-minute get away. We were lucky enough to stay in this beautiful, centrally located home. It has all of the comforts and amenities of home and only minutes away from all of the activities. It was wonderful for us to be able to return from a long day in the snow to a warm bath, a full kitchen, a large tv and comfy beds. Definitely will stay here again!

Perfect House for a Family

We stayed at this beautiful, well equipped and comfortable home for a long weekend while my husband ran a Tough Mudder race. We have a 1 year old and 3 year old. The house was very kid friendly and a great location with easy access to walking paths and a park. We loved it and would stay again. The xbox was a major hit with my son and the little toys around kept Hattie busy.

Awesome Rental, Killer location!!!

What a great place to rent! Super clean inside and out, fully equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. Had fast wi-fi for use with my phone and my PC and great location to the Ski Resorts (SQUAW & NorthStar), Mountain bike trails and downtown Truckee for eating and getting our sports equipment. Cozy Truckee house in a great neighborhood

The house is very warm and comfortable. We felt like we were at home. The decor is stylish and up-to-date and the layout is perfect for one or two families. We had all of the kitchen tools, appliances and dinnerware that we needed for dining in, which seems to be rare when renting a house. The location is perfect! It is in clean, quiet neighborhood, close to downtown Truckee, a great park for kids, Northstar and King's Beach.

Wow! What a fantastic place! Great location, super clean, well-equipped, sharp knives; the kitchen is completely set up to cook a meal. Beds and linens are wonderful- new and comfortable. And my hubby loved the GIANT-screen TV. Quiet back deck was a great place for morning coffee.

Great location & beautifully redone home

We visited in the summer and loved everything about it. The home is beautifully redone with some nice luxury touches and a well stocked kitchen for those that love to cook. Close to historic downtown Truckee and easy to find. We plan to return again in the winter too!

Truckee snow-fun

Tastefully decorated, sparkling clean with all the comforts of a home away from home. Front yard is huge so our smaller and even bigger kids played well and had lots of fun. The kitchen if well equipt so we were able to find all we needed to prepare food and drinks to warm ourselves back up.. Had a great time and we would definetly love to go back !
